With all the thriving activity at The Navy Yard, PIDC grows its senior level management team to better enable us to bring the level of attention, skills, and leadership to important functions required to sustain The Navy Yard’s growth and momentum.
Prema Gupta is now in the role of Senior Vice President for Navy Yard Planning, Development, and Management. Prema worked in PIDC’s Real Estate Services Group from 2007 to 2010 and since leaving PIDC has worked at the University City District as its Director of Planning & Economic Development. In that capacity, Prema led the planning and execution of several prominent economic development and civic real estate projects, including development of The Porch at 30th Street Station and working to repurpose SEPTA’s trolley portal at 40th & Baltimore into commercial and civic space. We are very excited to have Prema return to PIDC, taking on the leadership role around all of our real estate planning, leasing, development, management, and marketing and communications functions and brings her considerable place making skills to The Navy Yard.
Will Agate is now taking on the new role of Senior Vice President for Navy Yard Energy Operations and Initiatives. In this new position, Will is now focusing on leading all operations of The Navy Yard’s smart grid development and electric utility operations, including a $31 million grid modernization project currently under way that will provide for expansion of the system infrastructure and implementation of a series of new “smart” technologies, innovative business practices, tariffs, and demand-side strategies. Will also is continuing to focus on leveraging our energy and broader infrastructure assets at The Navy Yard to attract new businesses and to build new research partnerships around energy and sustainability. Will brings the experience, skills, and enthusiasm needed to focus on the expansion of this business activity and to achieve the most competitive energy choice for Navy Yard customers, and we are thrilled that he is taking on this new challenge for us.
