This week, Mercer Cafe at the Navy Yard celebrates its two and a half year anniversary! We stopped by the 15th & Kitty Hawk eatery to see what’s new since its grand opening in May 2015.
“Creating a comfortable gourmet eatery and carrying the legacy of my family’s traditions is a dream come true for me,” said Liza Bello, Mercer Cafe Co-owner and Manager. “Mercer Cafe is passionate about sharing the family’s authentic recipes with fellow neighbors in the Yard, from my grandmother’s famous crab cakes to my grandfather’s creamed chipped beef.”
Everything is homemade by the dynamic family and locally purchased from Philly neighborhoods. Liza noted the bestsellers at lunch are the chicken cutlet sandwiches, the turkey clubs, and the turkey specials.
Since opening, Liza and her team have adapted to its customers’ requests, including expanded grab-and-go offerings, a larger coffee menu with loyalty cards, a new outdoor patio pergola, and quicker service for the business crowd. To further accommodate customers, Mercer Cafe added new gluten-free items to its breakfast, lunch, and brick oven pizza menus.
To celebrate this milestone, Mercer Cafe at the Navy Yard is offering these November anniversary specials; stop by throughout the month to take advantage of these great deals and wish the Mercer staff a happy anniversary.

Mercer Cafe at the Navy Yard is open Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM. The original Mercer Cafe in Port Richmond is open Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Saturday from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM, and Sunday from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
