Built in 1918 during the twilight of World War I, the original foundry building operated as part of the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard until 1995. The foundry still operates from that same building today, and forms the heart of what is now a 100 year old institution. Read more

Soon, the facility will feature a full-service retail pharmacy, lab station, coffee bar and café, and walk-in telemedicine appointments.
PIDC & PHS announce today that the Navy Yard has received Level I arboretum accreditation from Arbnet. This accreditation complements and enhances the ongoing preservation and protection of trees, shrubs, perennials, and wildlife. The Navy Yard is only one of five arboretums in Philadelphia. The announcement was marked with a morning ceremonial tree planting at the historic Marine Parade Grounds.
