The Galley Cafe is the latest addition in dining options at The Navy Yard. The Galley, located in the lobby of 1200 Constitution Ave (Vincera Institute), offers local, organic, and healthy breakfast and lunch choices, as well as coffee, smoothies, and snacks with gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan options.
Laura Ferro, natural chef and owner of the Galley, understands the importance of proper nutrition and offers a menu that supports optimal wellness and performance in everyday life. With a large percentage of clientele coming from the surrounding corporate environment, the menu offers food that will provide energy and focus in the work place. Laura Ferro is a certified Natural Chef and Holistic Health Coach for Nourish & Nosh at the Vincera Institute. She received her Bachelor of Science in the School of Business from Manhattan College. She then went on to pursue her passion at Bauman College of Holistic Nutrition and Natural Culinary Arts in Berkeley, CA. There she completed the Natural Culinary program and 60 hours of interning at both local restaurants and as a private natural chef. Upon graduating, Laura worked in San Francisco as a personal chef to clients throughout the Bay Area. She also worked with an organic and sustainable catering company, doing private events throughout the city. Laura received her Health Coach Certification through the Institute for Integrative Nutrition and is affiliated and board certified with the American Association of Drugless Practitioners (AADP).
Today, Laura practices her holistic health consulting and natural chef services with a variety of clientele – from athletes, to busy professionals, to those with severe food allergies and health conditions. She enables her clients to achieve optimal health through providing natural, organic, and delicious meals using innovative nutritional approaches. Laura builds specific dietary plans and menus for each individual’s needs, using the therapeutic value of food to nurture the body and mind.
