This month’s Tenant Spotlight features DVIRC at The Navy Yard, located at Building 100 Innovation Center, 4801 S. Broad Street, Philadelphia, PA. 

Advanced manufacturers can learn more about Additive Manufacturing (3D printing)! DVIRC, with support from NextFab, will offer technical training classes at DVIRC’s Navy Yard office during May and June.The classes will be facilitated and led by NextFab instructors who are skilled in building broad based awareness of, and competence with advanced digital design and manufacturing technologies. The classes include Introduction to CAD & Digital Fabrication, Introduction to 3D printing and Introduction to 3D scanning. No previous experience in these subjects is required and engineers, product designers and marketing professionals are encouraged to attend. Participants will learn capabilities of 3D printing and the associated technologies to move digital design engineering and manufacturing directly into real products and also allow participants to walk away with an understanding of 3D scanning, 3D printing – capabilities and limitations and capabilities that can be created with digital fabrication tools. Those attending are encouraged to bring real parts/products from their company to the session to enhance their educational experience.

The training courses are half-day events to be held as follows:

May 20, 2014 (8:30am – 12:00pm) – Intro to CAD & Digital Fabrication

June 17, 2014 (8:30am – 12:00pm) – Intro to 3D Printing

June 20, 2014 (8:30am – 12:00pm) – Intro to 3D Scanning

June 20, 2014 (1:00pm – 4:30pm) – Intro to 3D Printing
