The 9th annual Great Chefs Event, benefiting Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation and Navy Yard tenant Vetri Foundation for Children, will be held in the evening on June 10, 2014 at The Navy Yard! The event is hosted by Urban Outfitters, Inc. in Building 543. This spectacular celebration will showcase four dozen top chefs from throughout the U.S. and Italy, offering an unparalleled dining experience while raising money for a great cause. The event features live and silent auction items like a dinner for six with Bobby Flay in Vetri’s Private Dining Room; a culinary tour of Italy with Jeff Michaud, Rocco Whalen and Jeff Benjamin; concert and sports tickets; made-to-order fashion items; and more. Following the event, Great Chefs sponsors, chefs, volunteers, and After Party Access ticketholders will regroup for the Great Chefs After Party hosted by Alla Spina. Philadelphia native and Roots band leader Questlove will be spinning tunes, Adam Perry Lang will be working the barbecue pit, and Chef Brad Spence is slicing up the 200lb mortadella!
Over the past nine years, the Great Chefs Event has grown from a small local charity event to an inspiring culinary movement. Last year, the event hosted upwards of 1,200 guests and raised nearly $1.1 million at The Navy Yard.
