Ribbon Cut on Third Laboratory Facility for WuXi AppTec at the Navy Yard

Liberty Property Trust and PIDC  joined WuXi AppTec, Inc., a global leader in pharmaceuticals, biopharmaceuticals, and medical devices, for a ribbon cutting ceremony to open their third facility at the Navy Yard.  This new 150,000 square foot facility which, when fully operational, has the potential to accommodate an additional 200 high tech manufacturing and support jobs. New Federal Award to Expand Navy Yard Shuttle Service

PIDC, Philadelphia’s public-private economic development corporation, today announced it will expand its popular shuttle service at the Navy Yard, as a result of receiving funding from the Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission (DVRPC). The $416,280 award is part of the Competitive Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality (CMAQ) Program that funds projects to improve air quality and/or reduce traffic congestion. CMAQ projects reduce emissions and help Greater Philadelphia meet federal health-based air quality standards. Read more

U.S. Department of Energy Selects The Navy Yard as a Location for Testing Micro-PMU Technology

PIDC, Philadelphia’s public-private economic development corporation, announced today that The Navy Yard has been selected by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) as the site for a study on new technology for advanced electrical distribution and controls. The study will focus on how to make local electric distribution systems more reliable and create additional capabilities for the energy industry to deploy larger-scale renewable energy within local communities. This pilot program is the first of its kind on a functional microgrid. Read more

Liberty Property Trust Pre-Leases 26,000 Square Feet to PENN CAPITAL at 1200 Intrepid Ave

Liberty Property Trust, which owns and manages more than 12 million square feet of office, flex and industrial space in the Greater Philadelphia region, today announced it has pre-leased 26,000 square feet of office space at 1200 Intrepid Avenue to Penn Capital Management Company, Inc. (PENN CAPITAL). This summer the existing Liberty tenant will relocate from Three Crescent Drive in The Navy Yard to its new, larger space, which overlooks a sustainable five-acre park, Central Green. NXTsports Recess Sports Youth Camp is Coming to The Navy Yard this Summer!

School’s out and it’s time for RECESS! Navy Yard tenant NXTsports invites parents to enroll their children in its Recess Sports program at The Navy Yard, a five-sport youth education camp staffed by experienced coaches. The mission of Recess Sports is to run a fast-paced, organized, and fun environment for young athletes that introduces soccer, lacrosse, basketball, field hockey, and football to boys and girls ages 4 to 8. NXT has run sports camps all over the Greater Philadelphia region, but now is bringing Recess to its home base at The Navy Yard. The 2016 Recess Camp will take place June 27 – 30, 2016 on the Marine Parade Grounds. Read more
