Navy Yard tenants: join Vincera Institute this holiday season by supporting a great organization called Treats for Troops. Treats for Troops was started by Freddie Klevan of Main Line Troop Support when he connected with a longtime friend in Iraq. Freddie asked how he could help the soldiers overseas fighting for our country. It was requested that he send care packages as they “strengthen the morale and the heart of our brave warriors and their families”. Freddie’s vision for Treats for Troops is: as long as they’re over there, Main Line Troop support will be there for them.

Vincera Institute will handle the collection boxes and creating care packages for the 2016 holiday season. If you are interested in a receiving a collection box for your organization, please contact Krista Fumo at kfumo@vincerainstitute.com as soon as possible. There is a long list of items needed to create these care packages, from batteries, to chewing gum, mouthwash, handwritten letters from children, leftover Halloween candy, protein bars, and toilet paper. The full list of items can be viewed here.

Alternatively, if you would prefer not to have a collection box at your organization, Vincera Institute (located at the corner of 12th & Constitution) and Building 101 (4747 S. Broad Street) will have donation bins in their lobbies from November 1 – 30 for collection. All items will be collected on December 1 and then the care packages are assembled on December 5 and mailed to our troops for the holidays. Thank you for your time and consideration in supporting this great cause.
