PIDC & PHS announce today that the Navy Yard has received Level I arboretum accreditation from Arbnet. This accreditation complements and enhances the ongoing preservation and protection of trees, shrubs, perennials, and wildlife. The Navy Yard is only one of five arboretums in Philadelphia. The announcement was marked with a morning ceremonial tree planting at the historic Marine Parade Grounds.

The 175,000 square foot Global Innovation Center offers unparalleled specialty labs, as well as office space. It’s location in Philadelphia’s historic Navy Yard enables collaboration among Axalta employees, business partners, and customers throughout the Philadelphia area and beyond.

What a beautiful fall day for the groundbreaking of WuXi AppTec’s 4th Navy Yard facility! WuXi’s Chief Scientific Officer, Dr. Joe Hughes, was joined by Lauren Swartz, Senior Director of International Business at the City of Philadelphia’s Commerce Department; John Grady, President of PIDC; John Gattuso and Brian Cohen of Liberty Property Trust; and other members of the WuXi and project teams for the ceremonial groundbreaking. This 95,000 square foot build-to-suit office and laboratory building is for WuXi AppTec’s Advanced Therapies Business Unit (WuXi ATU), located at 400 Rouse Blvd.
