Celebrating sustainability at the Navy Yard,  PIDC, Clean Air Council, the US Navy, Johnson Controls (LUX Products Corporation), Penn State at the Navy Yard, Nava Yoga Center at The Navy Yard and Ben Franklin Technology Partners of Southeastern PA  joined forces for another successful Sustainability Day.

The organizing sponsors were joined by 15+ regional organizations with missions to support sustainability.

The day included free electronics and battery recycling, free paper shredding, free Earth Yoga and a Penn State NoontimeU: How to Waste Less Food and Save the Planet! By the days end, over 1,500 lbs of electronics were recycled, 1,000 lbs of paper was shredded, and nearly 1,000 lbs of batteries were recycled.

For 2019, this added to the Navy Yard total’s sustainability impact hitting our goal of 3,000 lbs of electronics recycled, 3,000 lbs of paper shredding, 1,000 lbs of batteries recycled.
